Emerald Sundays #1

This picture is from the Japanese Tea Gardens in San Francisco, near Presidio park. I went there this summer and I love it! I also acquire a taste for jasmine tea. It's driving me a bit nuts because I haven't been able to find jasmine tea here. If I leave near here, I would go every day that I can get away.

View: A Photo Hunt

This is one of the views from San Francisco. If I give myself time, I could start a huge panic feeling at how crowded this city was. When I went to Union Square, the people are just thick, and it's hard to move. But when you go to Presidio and Nob Hill it's much better. There's less people, less crowd, and less noise.

Sky Watch: Do You See the Emperor?

My husband took this picture for me in his new Fuji digital camera. When I saw this picture, I know it's that famour Roman Emperor. He looked skeptical, he can't see it. So please, let me know if you see it too.

I can almost hear, "Friends, Roman and countrymen. Lend me your ears."

Thursday Thirteen 9

20080924

1. Boy, is it hard to go back to school and do first grade homework.
2. However, it's a lot of fun when I read books with my children. It's a reward for doing homework again.
3. Why does it seem like my second child does not do any homework, but he comes home with 'A' anyway?
4. Do I let him get away with it?
5. What about developing good work habits?

6. I am reading THE CONFESSIONS OF FITZWILLIAM DARCY. I enjoy it very much. That's what I am going to do after I finish posting this.
7. I lost this book for 36 hours. You should have heard me moan and whine.
8. It must have been so bad, my husband offered to buy me a new one.
9. I guess what was left unsaid was, "For the love of G-d, STOP!"
10. He's too nice to say that. He also takes pictures for my and my sky watch.

11. He took this pictures of cloud of little bugs. I'm thinking they're gnats.
12. I am not sure though...looking at how thick these bug cloud are, I get itchy.
13. Aha! I made it to thirteen. I have gotta get a life. My kids and husband is all I talk about.

There Goes my Jogging Plans

20080917

I've decided to start getting in shape. I'm not getting any younger. Besides, my baby is now 2.5 years old. He's almost done breastfeeding. Yeah, he's the oldest I've ever breastfeed. I think it's because he's the last one. No more babies after him. Do you want to see something funny he did? One morning, he came over to breastfeed and this is what he looked like. Seriously, what was he thinking? High pressure milk coming out?

Did I also mentioned that my darlings ride their bikes inside my house. I'm not talking about tricycle for kiddies, but real bikes. They push my couch off to the side, just slightly, and they'd come racing on their bikes. Unfortunately for my piano, which is sitting right in the bike path, it's got training wheels scratches on it's base. I'm not even going to think about the roller blades banging on it's other side.

The long and short of it? I hit my little toe nail on one of the bike trainers. It peeled the nail halfway, and blood was all over the place. So, no jogging for me today. It's rather frustrating because I get my new single jogging stroller today! I have a double, but it's awkward to use it when there's only one child. I'm sitting here my little toe in a bandage, and thinking maybe I can walk instead with a slipper or a flip flop. I might still do that. I'll walk to the mini-spa and pamper myself with a wax and a nail polish.

Hurricane Harbor

20080914

We made it to Hurricane Harbor today. What a fun trip. It wasn't very crowded, so we get to try more than half a dozen rides. Last week, we went to Six Flags over Texas. We had 90 minutes to enjoy the park, and enjoy it we did.

Just wanted to make this note because I totally forgot to update my Six Flags/HH trip chart.

I better shower and get ready to go out see a movie. It's a date night. Yeah! My Mama is here so we can totally fly off the coop.

Here's a new kind of pregnancy for me. Look at how you can see a feet so clearly through the shirt.

TGIF!

20080911

My Thursday started out like a very promising day. I woke up at 6AM, and my daughter's all ready to leave for school. I usually drive her to her bus stop at 635 AM to catch her bus. That went without a glitch. Then I came home to get my 4 sons ready for school.

First, I had to convince my 6 years old that it's a good idea to get dress right away. My 4 years old decided that he does not feel like going out that day. Only my 9 years old and my 2 years old are all ready to leave. We finally made it to the car with 10 minutes to spare. I got them in their school with 1 minute to spare.

I had visions of me jogging for an hour before tacking house cleaning and laundry and cooking....but right when I pulled into my driveway, I got a call from my daughter. She has her period and had an unfortunate accident involving stain. 40 minutes round trip to her school. While there, I had a talk with her teacher. Some of it to gush at how smart she is, and the other half, about her missing summer project.

Huh? I had no idea! Anyway, she's going to finish all her summer project over this weekend. I was just leaving my daughter's school, still with visions of jogging, but I received another call. This time from my 6 years old first grader. He had an accident with his pants. I must drive over their to get the dirty clothes from him.

We did, but on the way to school, a lady bug landed on my two-year old's shirt. At first, he didn't want to touch it, and it flew away. While the lady bug was sitting on the ceiling light at the clinic, he decided he doesn't want to leave without it. We spent the next 20 minutes trying to coach the lady bug down. I climbed on a chair got it on my hands, then handed it to my baby. He squalled, and hopped around and the lady bug got spooked.

Another few minutes passed, then we went home. I was poofed with all that running around then, I just wanted to take a nap. Baby has another idea. We read a few books, draw some circles, and then he got cranky, and fell asleep. I decided to bake and cook and clean and laundry until it's time to pick up my kids again.

Right now, I'm still recovering from my Thursday. TGIF!

Sky Watch Friday

When I look at this sky, it always brings me back to my childhood, and of my Aunts house near the beach. The sand would look like this after a heavy rain.

It was really cloudy one day when I left to go shopping. Sometimes, no rain or clouds can stop me from going to the store to pick up some groceries. My kids like to eat. :)

After the rain, having nothing to do with the picture above, I decided to take a picture of my ring while waiting at the traffic sign. I am almost sure that the honks I heard had nothing to do with my forgetting to look up and missing a green light. Hmmm. Probably has nothing to do with it.

First Day

20080902

It was my 4-year old's first day of pre-K today. I had planned to stay with him until his class starts just to make sure he's alright.

Look how short his hair is now.

Unfortunately, circumstances had other plans. My van won't start, so we end up running a tad late when we had to use my husband's. Moving car seats, and transferring 5 children to another vehicle is at least a 10-minute event.

My daughter wanted to be there for Yossi's first day of school also, so we went with him and got him settled. I was happy that he's in school because it's a wish he's had since two years ago. I was also sad that he won't be hanging with me while he's in school. I get teary-eyed with mix feelings of joy and sadness (but mostly joy) at the thought that my little ones are surely growing up.
